The Cmelak (Bumblebee) was developed in (the former) Czechoslovakia in the early 1960's. Of note are the characteristic, inverted gull wing , the massive radial engine with its unique sound, and the tremendous STOL capability of the Z-37. This aircraft is capable of landing/taking off in less than 500 feet. multi-time German scale champion, Stephan Voelker, developed the model. In creating the plug, he incorporated all the inspection hatches, panel lines, screws and rivets – scaled directly from the original aircraft. The full-fibreglass (FG) kit comes with a yellow gel coat base finish. Scale-sized flaps, slots and a scale sprung main gear round out the perfect "entrance – stage right" of the model. Thru use of the most recent breakthroughs in composite technology, we succeeded in keeping the weight of model under the magic goal of 20 Kg (recently raised to 25 Kg/55 lbs.). The size and broad range of power plants makes the Cmelak an ideal platform for towing duties and is a real attraction at any fly-in.
