Jodel Robin DR 400 . 112"       

The Robin DR 400 series of light aircraft owes its origins to the Jodel series of wooden construction light aircraft.

The four/five seat DR 400/180 Regent and DR 400 Remo 180R are powered by the 135kW (180hp) (Textron) Lycoming O360, the Remo being optimized for glider towing. Also optimized for glider tug work is the DR 400/200R Remo 200, the most powerful DR 400 model (powered by a 150kW/200hp IO360, driving a constant speed prop).

Known throughout the modeling fraternity as THE tow-tug, we have designed and built this model for precisely that purpose. Thru the use of the tri-gear setup with a steerable nose wheel, take-offs and landings are simplified. The chosen NACA airfoil lends the model docile flight characteristics. Two-piece removable wing and tailplane make the model, despite its HUGE dimensions, transportable. The wing is factory set up to receive the (as an accessory) sprung, scale landing gear. The JODEL model, built to a scale of 1:3, outfitted with a motor from 60ccm (3.7 cu. in.) is ideally suited for towing larger class sailplanes.
